Do Real Estate Agents Need to Go to College?

Real estate agents do not need to attend college, but they do need to complete a real estate agent course and earn a license to become an agent. The length of the program varies depending on which state you live in. What are the Requirements to Become a Real Estate Agent?

• In Indiana, the pre-license course is 90 hours.
• In Kentucky, students must complete six credit hours in real estate classes as part of their degree or a 96-hour pre-license course.
• In Ohio, students must have a sponsorship from an Ohio broker and complete a 120-hour pre-license program.
• After completing the pre-license course, students must pass the state exam for the states where they plan to work.
• After passing the exam, students in Indiana and Kentucky must apply for a license.
